Live Updates for Cork City -v- Bray Wanderers

Updates by

90' + 4'

FULL TIME!

And that's it. Cork get the points but Bray were unlucky not to pinch an equaliser in a second half full of chances for both teams.

It's goodnight from Turner's Cross from me, Mike Warren, and the Extratime.ie team.

90' + 3'

The home dugout demand a penalty as a shot is hit at short range into a Cork hand. The referee disagrees. Again, Cork could have blown the lead but are let off.

89'

McSweeney is lucky the referee deems that muscular challenge from Onwubiko unfair, as he was totally isolated at the back. The Bray man was denied a clear run at goal. Cork just can't keep the Wanderers down as they chase an equaliser.

88'

The light is fading here in Cork but it's impossible to miss young keeper McGuinness, resplendent in his 'construction worker orange,' shorts, socks, shirt and indeed boots.

87'

Substitution

Cassidy's match is over as he trudges off the pitch. Unfortunately his fine performance was over shadowed by his penalty miss.

85'

Bray are refusing to give up this game and Lyons makes yet another bursting run down the left. The quality of his shot fails to match that of his neat cut back as he fires well over the bar.

81'

Substitution

Luke Gallagher replaces Ryan McEvoy for Bray Wanderers.

79'

Another energetic run from Lyons is cut out at the edge of the box by McNulty. He seems determined to make his mark on this game.

75'

The Shed are rivalling incensed away manager, Trevor Croly, for volume as the ground roars into life following that missed penalty.

72'

MISSED PENO!

Penalty for Bray after a soft challenge on the edge of the box. McNulty dives full length to his right to deny captain Cassidy. A real scare out of the blue for Cork.

69'

Yellow Card

O'Connor goes into the book for diving after the referee sees the incident differently to the vocal home supporters.

68'

Substitution

Mark O'Sullivan leaves the pitch to warm applause after a busy shift up front. The away defence will be glad to see his bustling presence gone.

64'

Substitution

Michael McSweeney replaces John Kavanagh for Cork City.

62'

John Kavanagh pulls up with what looks suspiciously like a hamstring injury. The Bray players play on to a few muted boos until Cork regain the ball and more sportingly kick it out.

60'

Dennehy lines up to take the free kick from just outside the Bray box but fails to lift it higher than the knees of the defending wall. Both sides are starting to see a few promising chances in a game that is starting to open up.

58'

Yellow Card

Hugh Douglas is booked for Bray Wanderers.

57'

Substitution

Peter Durrad replaces David Scully for Bray Wanderers.

56'

Dennehy shows Alan McNally a clean pair of heels as he races past him to the byline. Unfortunately for Cork his cross doesn't find his target.

55'

Substitution

Danny Morrissey replaces Karl Sheppard for Cork City.

54'

Some neat interchanges up front lead to a shot wide of the post from David Scully. Bray are struggling to get behind the Cork defence but keep trying.

50'

Marauding full back John Kavanagh is escorted into the advertising hoardings by a gentle nudge from John Sullivan. The ball rolls out for a goal kick.

47'

Alan Bennett takes over the armband from the departed Colin Healy. The half time break seems to have calmed things down a bit here in Turner's Cross.

45'

Yellow Card

Graham Kelly is booked for Bray Wanderers.

45'

Yellow Card

Alan Bennett is booked for Cork City.

45'

Yellow Card

Mark McNulty is booked for Cork City.

45'

Second Half

The second half between Cork City and Bray Wanderers has started.

45'

Well one nasty challenge has suddenly livened up what was previously a fair but well fought game. The half time break has come at the right time for both managers to calm their players down and to focus on the football.

45'

Half Time

It is half-time between Cork City and Bray Wanderers.

45'

The home crowd have jumpt into life and give Hugh Douglas a few boos, presumably for putting his shins in the way of Colin Healy's studs.

43'

Red Card

Bray's numerical advantage last all of half a minute as in the ensuing melee Adam Mitchell manages to get himself his own red card. We're down to ten a side.

43'

Red Card

Chaos erupts following a nasty, studs up, challenge from Colin Healy on Hugh Douglas. The ref promptly shows Healy a deserved red card

40'

Another promising passage of play ends with a blatant push on John Kavanagh

39'

Out of nowhere Bray string a lovely couple of passes together and McEvoy narrowly fails to convert the fluid move, striking the outside of Cork's post.

36'

Bray find the back of....the away team dugout with a miscued lash of the ball.

34'

O'Sullivan again wriggles his way into a bit of space but heads a half chance wide from just outside the six yard box.

31'

Hugh Douglas can't get his head far enough behind the ball and loops his effort into McNulty's arms. Bray haven't been discouraged after going one down.

29'

GOAL!

McGuinness distraught to see his fine save from Colin Healy fall straight to the feet of O'Sullivan who finishes clinically into the bottom corner. Cork deserved that after starting to dominate.

24'

Billy Dennehy has the crowd behind the goal more worried than Bray's keeper with that blazing effort well over the bar.

23'

The ball falls nicely for David Scully on the edge of the Cork box but he fails to beat the diving McNulty.

21'

McGuinness plucks an inviting cross out of the air, which O'Sullivan, lurking behind, would surely have converted.

18'

Yellow Card

Michael McSweeney is booked for Cork City.

18'

Mark O'Sullivan invites a few boos for sliding tackle that leaves Bray's Alan McNally needing attention. The referee waves play on.

15'

David Scully fires a well timed volley from Hugh Douglas' cross but cannot direct it past McNulty.

10'

Mark O'Sullivan heads a decent chance high and wide after a smart cross from Billy Dennehy finds him in space.

5'

Cork's John Kavanagh weaves his way through the Bray defence only to fire straight at Bray's keeper Stephen  McGuinness
