Derry City have announced the signings of two ex-Candystripes that will be rejoining the fold in the Brandywell for the upcoming 2012 season. Defender Stewart Greacen will come back to Derry after a brief flirtation with Glentoran in the Irish League while playmaker Owen Morrison returns to Derry from FC New York who play in the National Division of the USL Professional Division, the third tier of the American Soccer Pyramid.

Greacen signs after he asked the Glens to release him from his newly signed 18 month contract at the Belfast based club, citing difficulties with training in Scotland and commuting to Northern Ireland for matches as the reason. The 30 year old had just signed with Glentoran on the 21st of December, despite being linked with signing with FAI Cup winners Sligo Rovers at the time.

The well travelled Morrison returns to the League of Ireland after a two season absence. The player who's talent cannot be denied, will be hoping to excite the fans of Derry once again. He was previously linked with joining the Candystripes in August of 2011, but this time the move has finally come through and Morrison joins Derry for the third time in his career.
