Parrott to miss Premier League restart due to surgery

Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed their striker Troy Parrott has undergone surgery to remove his appendix and will miss the re-start of the Premier League.

League fixtures are due to return from 17 June and with that in mind squads, including Spurs, are returning to training as a group. However will Parrott will miss out on this initial return due to surgery.

Spurs announced on Saturday that “the young striker was found to have early signs of appendicitis after reporting abdominal pain to our medical staff. He will now undergo a period of recovery before commencing rehabilitation and returning to training later in June.”

Last February, Parrott, who made his League debut with Tottenham in a 5-0 win over Burnley in December 2019, extended his contract to stay at White Hart Lane until 2023.

He made his first senior international appearance for the Republic of Ireland in last year’s friendly against New Zealand in the Aviva Stadium.
