Wolves draw Arsenal's conquerors Olympiacos in Europa League last 16 while Man United face LASK of Austria

Wolverhampton Wanderers face a difficult assignment in the last 16 of the Europa League as they face Olympiacos of Greece.

The Athenian side, conquerors of Arsenal in the previous round, have won 19 of the past 23 Greek Super Leagues, although they have been pipped to the title in each of the past two years.

They shrugged off a 1-0 deficit from the first leg in Athens to beat Arsenal on away goals following extra time at the Emirates on Thursday night.

Papa Cissé’s goal early in the second half forced extra time after a sole strike from Alexander Lacazette in the away leg had given Arsenal a slender lead going into the match.

And, though Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put the Gunners in front with seven minutes remaining in extra time, Youseff Al-Arabi pounced with a minute to go to send the Greek side through.

Wolves had the simpler task of hanging onto their three-goal lead from the first leg at Molineux and, though they went down 3-2 on the night, progressed with ease.

Adama Traoré and Ireland international Matt Doherty were on target for Wolves in Barcelona, while a hat-trick from Jonathan Calleri ensured victory on the night for Espanyol.

Elsewhere in the round of 16, Manchester United were drawn against Austrian side LASK, while Celtic’s conquerors Kobenhavn will face Istanbul Basaksehir.

Rangers have a difficult draw with German side Leverkusen, while five-times champions Sevilla will face Serie A side Roma in arguably the pick of the round’s ties.

Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Salzburg will conclude their last 32 clash on Friday, with the winner set to face Switzerland’s Basel.
