Carrigaline overcome Cobh Ramblers to reach Munster Senior Cup Semi Finals

Carrigaline United caused a major cup upset last Friday evening, when they beat League of Ireland side Cobh Ramblers 1-0 in the Munster Senior Cup quarter finals.

Darragh Corcoran's first half goal was the difference between the two sides in a classic cup clash at Ballea Park.

For ninety minutes, United where dogged and disciplined in defence as they held the First Division side scoreless.

The Rams started a number of players with experience from the highest levels of Irish football. This included Pierce Philips and Kevin Taylor who featured for Cork City FC in their historic run in the UEFA Youth League in 2016, and Ian Turner, who won the FAI Cup with the Rebel Army the same year.

Carrigaline - who have never even reached the final of the Munster Senior Cup - will now play Rockmount in the semi finals.
