Premier Division golden boot winner Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe joins Israeli side Hapoel Hadera

Former Derry City loanee Junior Ogedi-Uzokwe has signed a permanent deal with Israeli outfit Hapoel Hadera from Colchester United.

Junior netted 14 league goals for the Candystripes last term, as Declan Devine’s side earned a Europa League spot.

The forward re-joined Colchester following the end of his loan at the Ryan McBride Brandywell Stadium – but he has since moved on to pastures new.

Colchester Director of Football Tony Humes said on the move; “We wish Junior well in Israel for this next chapter in his football career and thank him for the wholehearted efforts he put in during his time with us.

“There was a lot of speculation in the past few days about Junior, but we never report on transfer deals until they actually happen.

“That can lead to deals breaking down, and that could have been especially the case in this one where international clearances were involved.”
