Forward Conor Drinan re-joins Cobh Ramblers

Cobh Ramblers have announced the signing of Conor Drinan ahead of the League of Ireland First Division season.

The striker signs for the Rams from Munster Senior League side Carrigaline United where he was top scorer in 2019.

Drinan scored 24 goals for the club helping them secure promotion to the Premier Division last year.

It’s a return to Cobh for the younger brother of current Ayr United striker Aaron Drinan, who is currently on loan with the Scottish Championship club from Ipswich.

He originally played for the Rams Under 17 side in 2017 and made 19 appearances for the team before joining Carrigaline in 2018.

“I’m delighted to be back with Cobh for the coming season and I can’t wait for the season to get started,” Drinan said, speaking to the club’s website.

“Everyone has been very welcoming to me and I’m really enjoying it. We have a great squad and with the lads here we can definitely be successful.”

Ramblers continue their preparations for the new season with a friendly against neighbours Cork City at Mayfield United’s ground on Sunday (kick-off 2pm).
