Former Galway United midfielder Mark Hannon joins Ballinamallard

Ballinamallard United have announced the signing of Mark Hannon.

The 21 year old midfielder has signed for the NIFL Championship club after leaving Galway United at the end of the 2019 League of Ireland First Division season.

He began his career with his home club Sligo Rovers progressing through to the first team from their under 19 squad in 2016.

The Ballisadare man made the move to Finn Harps for the 2018 season, making 7 appearances for the side, before linking up with Alan Murphy last year for Galway United’s First Division campaign.

“We are delighted to have agreed terms with 21 year old left sided player Mark Hannon,” manager Harry McConkey said in a statement from the club.

“We have been awaiting his international clearance for over a week but hope to get this in the coming days. Mark has been buzzing in training for the last two weeks and can’t wait to pull on the Mallards shirt.

“Mark can play left back or left side of midfield and is a fine athlete. Alan Murphy spoke very highly of Mark’s abilities and attitude and we look forward to seeing him develop his game at Ferney Park.”
