Daniel Kelly extends Carrick Rangers stay until 2022

Daniel Kelly has extended agreed terms on a contract extension with NIFL Premiership club Carrick Rangers.

The defensive midfielder’s new contract will see him remain with the club until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

Kelly is in his second stint with Rangers having made his debut with the club during the 2012/13 season making 137 appearances and scoring four goals.

Over the course of four seasons Kelly was an important part of the Rangers squad that won the Steel and Sons Cup, Intermediate Cup and Championship One title.

The Carrickfergus native left the cub for Glentoran for the 2017/18 campaign where he made 35 appearances and scored twice before returning to Rangers for the 2018/19 Championship season.

Rangers went on to win promotion through the playoffs last season and are currently sitting in 8th place in the NIFL Premiership.

“I am delighted to sign a two year contract extension; for me, it was a no brainer as I am enjoying my football now more than ever and being from Carrick I feel a sense of pride every time I pull the shirt on,” Kelly said, speaking to the club’s website.
