Finn Harps confirm signing of Shane McEleney

Finn Harps have announced the signing of Shane McEleney ahead of the 2020 League of Ireland Premier Division season.
The defender joins Ollie Horgan’s side from NIFL Premiership side Larne FC where he spent the last two years having signed for The Reds in January 2018.
McEleney began his career with Derry City and was part of the squad that won the First Division in 2010 as well as the FAI Cup in 2012.
The 28 year old went on to have a spell with St Patrick’s Athletic before moving to Canada to play for Ottawa Fury for a year.
“I’m really excited to be signed and get started,” McEleney said, speaking to the club’s website.
“After meeting with Ollie and Paul they told me what they were about and what the group was about and I was eager for a fresh start.
“I had my first training session today and the lads couldn’t have been more welcoming. I think we’ve a really strong group.”
Ollie Horgan’s men begin their Premier Division campaign at home on Friday 14 February against Sligo Rovers (kick-off 8pm).
