Shelbourne sign Irish international Ciara Grant

Women’s National League side Shelbourne have unveiled the signing of former Irish underage international Ciara Grant.

Grant joins the Reds after she spent last season with Northern Irish outfit Sion Swifts who came second to Linfield in a gripping title race.

The midfielder’s capture comes as a huge boost to Dave Bell’s charges for 2020, who, like Sion Swifts – came second in a pulsating title race last term.

Grant has 12 caps for the Republic of Ireland to her name, and she was also a member of the Republic of Ireland U-17 squad that were runners-up in the 2010 UEFA Women’s Under-17 Championship

She was also part of the team who reached the quarter-finals in the 2010 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.

While also representing Donegal GAA on multiple occasions, she has also enjoyed stints with both UCD Waves and Raheny United.

While at Raheny, she won the Women’s National League twice and the Women’s FAI Cup at Raheny United.

With Donegal GAA, Grant also won the Ulster Ladies Football Championship in 2018.

Ciara told shelbournefc.ie she is “very happy to be on board” in our quest win further trophies in 2020.
