Pat Devlin to remain as Cabinteely first team manager and director of football

First Division Cabinteely have confirmed that Pat Devlin is to stay on as first-team manager and Director of Football ahead of the 2020 campaign.

Devlin led his side to an unlikely promotion hunt in 2019, before they were eventually undone by Drogheda United in the playoffs.

Cabo reached the semi-finals of the promotion playoffs with a win over Longford Town in a dramatic penalty shootout at City Calling Stadium.

Rob Manley’s spot-kick sent the Green and White’s through after both sides could not be separated after 210 minutes of play.

The South Dubliner’s also secured a record tally of 50 points in 2019, a total that earned a fourth placed finish in a record-breaking year.

In addition to the news that Devlin will remain at the club, it has also been confirmed that he will retain his backroom team ahead of next season.

Eddie Gormley, Graham O’Hanlon, Paul Heffernan, John Power, Joe Walsh, Joseph Walsh and Peter Mulrean will all remain at the club.

News of Devlin’s contract extension comes follows news that defender Jack Tuite, goalkeeper Stephen McGuiness and forward Rob Manley have all departed the club in recent weeks.

Jack Watson has also left the club to join fellow First Division rivals Bray Wanderers in recent days.
