Defender Keith Cowan has spent little time searching for a new club after his Harps exit, joining Irish League side Glentoran.

The 34-year-old made 56 appearances for Harps in the past two campaigns, after missing out on the 2017 season entirely.

Cowan made his Harps debut in 2005, before returning to the club in 2010. Since 2010, the central defender made 206 appearances for the club.

The defender also secured two promotions with the club, in both 2015 and 2018 under Ollie Horgan before leaving the Finn Park outfit earlier this week

He scored 12 goals for the club, with his last coming against Cork City in April. His last appearance came in the second playoff win over Drogheda.

Their main goal is to get back to where they have been,” Cowan told Donegal Daily/Donegal Sport Hub.

“They’re a very successful club,” the 34-year-old added. “It’s something that really excites me. It’s a new challenge.

“They’re one of the ‘big two’ with Linfield. It’s a great opportunity and one that I’m really looking forward to sinking my teeth into.”

Cowan will officially sign for the club on the opening of the January transfer window, with Glentoran in 5th in the NIFL top-flight.
