Drogheda unveil signing of Brandon Bermingham from Bohemians

First Division Drogheda United have confirmed the signing of former Bohemians under-19 star Brandon Bermingham.

Bermingham previously was on the books of St Patrick’s Athletic at under-19 level, before he joined forces with Bohs where he played at under-19 level.

The Co. Louth native scored 14 goals last season for the Gypsies under-19s – and he also featured in their UEFA Youth League games against Greek side PAOK.

The midfielder featured for Keith Long’ s first-team squad on a number of occasions in the 2019 campaign.

The youngster played for the first-team in pre-season, the Leinster Senior Cup and in an away fixture in the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Challenge Cup.

The 17 year old has also played at international level for Northern Ireland at under-17 level.

He has also played for the Republic of Ireland’s school side – scoring twice against Australia in 3-0 win.

A call up to the Republic of Ireland squad for the Centenary Shield soon followed competition in March and April, with Bermingham scoring twice against Wales and Scotland.
