Bohemians Danny Grant and Aaron Drinan both called up to Stephen Kenny's under-21 squad

Republic of Ireland under-21 boss Stephen Kenny has opted to call up Bohemians winger Danny Grant and former Waterford forward Aaron Drinan ahead of Tuesday’s qualifier away to Iceland on Tuesday.

Bohs winger Grant comes into the squad following the Gypsies 2-1 win over Dundalk on Friday evening.

Also coming into Kenny’s squad is striker Drinan, who makes his return to the under-21 squad for the first time since the Toulon Tournament.

The former Longford Town boss has been forced to shuffle his pack in recent days with injuries and suspensions hindering his attacking options.

Jonathan Afolabi has been ruled out of the clash away to Iceland with injury, while Tottenham Hotspur forward Troy Parrott misses out with suspension.

The Boys in Green head out to Iceland with ten points to their name after four games, drawing once at home to Italy on Thursday evening.

Stephen Kenny's squad travelled to Reykjavik on Saturday morning ahead of the qualifier against Iceland on Tuesday, October 15.

Kick off in Reykjavik is at 4pm on Tuesday afternoon.
