Wexford confirm departure of forward Ryan Nolan

Wexford FC have announced the departure of forward Ryan Nolan from the club after an eighteen-month spell with the Slaneysiders.

Nolan was in his second season with the First Division club having signed in January 2018 from local side Ferns United.

While at Ferrycarrig Park, he made 34 appearances, including 24 starts and scoring once for his hometown club in the League of Ireland.

The 23 year old struggled during much of the 2018 campaign for both Damian Locke and Brian O’Sullivan’s side with injury.

The forward last appeared in the First Division for Wexford in their 2-0 loss away to Cabinteely in the on the 28th of June.

The game also happened to be fellow attacking midfielder Jack Doherty’s final game for the club before his move to promotion contenders Longford Town.

Most recently, Nolan got on the scoresheet for the club in a mid-season friendly against Waterford last Monday.

The clash against Waterford ended in a three-all draw, with both sides making changes from their usual starting elevens.

Next up for Wexford is the visit of Bray Wanderers to Ferrycarrig Park on Friday, 2nd August (kick-off 7:45pm).
