Longford Town sign Sean Boyd on loan from Shamrock Rovers for First Division run-in

Longford Town have reinforced their squad for the First Division title run-in with the signing of Sean Boyd on loan from Shamrock Rovers until the end of the season.

21-year-old Boyd arrives at City Calling Stadium having spent the first half of the season on loan with Finn Harps, scoring twice in 15 appearances.

Boyd has spent the past five years with the Hoops since signing for the under-19s ahead of the 2014/15.

He made his senior debut at the age of 17 in May 2016 and scored his first senior goal in a Dublin derby win over Bohemians at Tallaght Stadium two months later.

A bad shoulder injury, which required surgery, hampered his progress but he made his mark at Premier Division level with Harps earlier in the season before returning to the Hoops in July.

Boyd made his debut as a second-half sub in Longford's league game with Cabinteely on Friday night.
