Cabinteely confirm capture of Japanese winger Yuta Sasaki

First Division Playoff hopefuls Cabinteely have confirmed the capture of Japanese winger Yuta Sasaki.

The 23-year-old winger joins the fold at Cabinteely ahead of their home tie against Wexford at Stradbrook on Friday evening.

The former Cherry Orchard and Dublin Bus star has recently played in South America and Germany prior to his move to Ireland.

“I’m delighted to be able to play for Cabinteely.” The Japanese winger told the club’s official media team.

“I am looking forward to the new challenge. I will give everything for the team.

“I have this chance that I am grateful for. I hope to make the best of it. There are so many differences between Japan, Paraguay, Germany and Ireland. I know what I must do. When I play, I hope to show what I can do for Cabinteely.”

Sasaki will be the first outfield player to play in the League of Ireland, following in the footsteps of former Drogheda United shot-stopper Hisanori Takada.

“I hope to be the first outfield player to play in the League. I’m excited about that and making history” admits Sasaki.

Cabinteely’s Director of Football Pat Devlin added; “He was recommended to us; he came training and impressed us. We’re delighted to have him. It’s fantastic opportunity both for him and the club.”
