Ryan Burke signs first professional contract with Birmingham City

Republic of Ireland under-19 international Ryan Burke has signed his first professional contract with Championship side Birmingham City.

The 18-year-old left-back, once of St Patrick’s Athletic has signed a two-year deal with the St. Andrew’s outfit having impressed with the club’s under-23 side.

Burke was a mainstay of the Blues under-23 side who went on finish runners-up in the PDL North and Play-Offs.

Burke joined the 2011 Carling Cup winners in July 2017 having impressed on a trial period with the club.

While at Birmingham City to date, the full-back helped lead City on their way to an FA Youth Cup Semi-Final in 2018.

Last season, the young Dubliner made 29 appearances for the club’s under-23 side.
