Wexford announce double signing of Ricky Fox and John Peare

First Division Wexford FC have announced the double signing of Ricky Fox and John Peare.

Both have previous history at Ferrycarrig Park with Fox playing for the Slaneysiders during the 2017 campaign while also playing for Wexford Youths in both 2008 and 2014.

Peare also returns to the Crossabeg venue after a stint in junior football with Moyne Rangers having also played with Waterford United during the 2016 campaign.

During his previous stint at Ferrycarrig Park, the 24-year-old midfielder scored one goal after returning in July 2015.

Speaking to his club’s media team, Peare admits that he is looking forward to testing himself at League of Ireland level once more after a stint away from the senior game.

"I've been down four or five times watching the lads already this season and they're playing some good football so I'm really looking forward to it and getting back to playing at League of Ireland level again."

Manager Brian O'Sullivan added: "They're great additions and much needed. They both bring experience and quality and we're really looking forward to working with them.

“The lads all know them, and they're well liked so will fit in no problem, John is coming in off a great season after winning the Wexford League."

Next up for Wexford FC is a trip to Longford Town on Saturday with the Slaneysiders seeking revenge for their most recent 2-1 defeat at the hands of De Town.
