League Preview: Cobh Ramblers -v- Limerick

COBH RAMBLERS

Cobh Ramblers hope to pick up their first win in five attempts as they host Munster rivals Limerick at St Colman’s Park on Saturday night (kick-off 7pm).

The Rams have at least managed to draw three of their last four games, most notably a scoreless game with then league leaders Longford Town.

Last week saw Stephen Henderson’s side held to a 2-2 draw by Wexford at Ferrycarrig Park, having led twice during the game.

An own goal from Darragh O’Connor and a Denzil Fernandes strike, both in the first half, had the Rams in front but goals from Jack Doherty and Danny Furlong levelled it up.

Cobh Ramblers have not provided any team news, however they have no suspensions to contend with.

LIMERICK

Limerick players may well see Saturday’s game as a rare and welcome distraction from off-field matters.

The squad this week voted to give notice of strike action following repeated failure to receive wage payments from the club.

In spite of their difficulties, the Blues have been relatively competitive on the field, though they’ve won just one of five since going on a three-game winning run in March.

A Sean Brennan hat-trick saw the Blues fall to a 3-2 defeat away to Drogheda United last week, with Darren Murphy and Adam Foley on target for Limerick.

Limerick have provided no team news but have no suspensions to deal with.
