League Preview: Wexford -v- Cobh Ramblers

WEXFORD

Wexford will aim to return to the winning trail when they welcome Cobh Ramblers to Ferrycarrig Park on Friday night (kick-off 7.45pm).

Brian O’Sullivan beat Athlone Town on their last Wexford outing two weeks ago but fell to a 2-0 defeat at Galway United seven days ago.

Goals in either half from Conor Barry and Maurice Nugent saw the Tribesman to a victory that lifted them from the foot of the table at Wexford’s expense.

The Rams dished out a 6-1 hiding to Wexford the last time they met at St Colman’s Park, and O’Sullivan will be looking for a much-improved showing this time around.

A rash of injuries contributed to that scoreline, but O’Sullivan finds his squad in much better shape this week, with only Owen McCormack confirmed absent.

COBH RAMBLERS

After a poor start to the season, Cobh Ramblers have found something of a vein of form in recent weeks with five points from their last four games.

Last week saw the Rams share the points away to Athlone Town as a late goal from Gavin Kearney cancelled out Jaze Kabia’s first-half opener.

Kabia is Ramblers’ top scorer this season with six goals from 11 games and is behind only Drogheda’s Mark Doyle and Cabinteely’s Rob Manley in the goalscoring charts.

Cobh haven’t released any team news for this game, but Stephen Henderson has no suspensions to contend with.
