Reghba commits to Bohemians for another year

19 year-old striker Ali Reghba has committed to Bohemians for another year, having just re-signed at Dalymount Park.

Having impressed for Bohs last season in the Under 19s League and in the Enda McGuill Cup, Reghba was rewarded with a senior debut  in a 3-1 Dublin derby win away against St Patrick’s Athletic on September 22nd.

Reghba bagged a brace in that match at Richmond Park as a much-changed Bohs (with Keith Long mindful of an upcoming FAI Cup semi-final) came from behind to upset their cross-city rivals.

As a regular starter, Reghba impressed for Craig Sexton’s Bohs U19s last term, netting twice in two frantic second-half minutes of the Enda McGuill Cup Final, as a sensational second-half performance by Bohemians saw Sexton’s men turn the tie completely around.

Bohs defeated St. Patrick’s Athletic 2-1 on what was an ideal night for football at Richmond Park, having trailed at the break.

First Reghba rose highest in the box to glance home substitute Jamie Hamilton’s right wing free-kick for the equalizer in the 61st minute.

Just two minutes later, the ball broke to Reghba inside the area and he finished low with precision for the clincher.

Reghba was also on the mark in the UEFA Youth League against FC Midtjylland and netted the winner in the SSE Airtricity U19 League final away to Shamrock Rovers.

Reghba said: “I am buzzing to have signed back. This club has helped me a lot. Keith and the coaching staff have given me a chance to play and prove myself.”

“I’ll always remember my debut. That game showed you the trust that the manager has in youth players at the club. He gave a load of us an opportunity.”

“You want more days like that. I want to play week in week out.”

“I know I have to work hard to do that but I’m looking forward to the challenge and hopefully I can play and score more goals again.”

Reghba was introduced as an 81st minute substitute in Bohs’ 2-0 away win at UCD on Friday.
