Sligo's Jack Keaney and Finn Harps' Sam Todd called up to Ireland under-21 squad

Republic of Ireland under-21 manager Stephen Kenny has drafted Jack Keaney of Sligo Rovers and Sam Todd of Finn Harps into his squad for a three-day training camp.

Ipswich Town striker Aaron Drinan has also been called up to replace Ronan Hale, who is due to line out for Northern Irish side Crusaders in the County Antrim Cup on Tuesday.

Former Dundalk manager Kenny will take charge of his first match against an Ireland amateur side on Wednesday night in Whitehall (kick-off 7.45pm).

Waterford midfielder JJ Lunney, who had been named in the original squad, picked up an injury during a pre-season fixture and Sligo’s John Mahon is also injured.

Keaney, who can play in midfield and defence, replaces Lunney while Todd – who recently completed a permanent move from Derry City – steps in for Mahon.
