Germany selected to host the 2024 UEFA European Championships

The 2024 UEFA European Championships will take place in Germany following the vote of the Executive Committee in Nyon, Switzerland.

The Committee deliberated and voted to select the hosts of Euro 2024 after final presentations from the two bidding associations, Germany and Turkey.

12 of the members of the UEFA Executive Committee voted for Germany to host the tournament while just four gave Turkey their preference. One vote was invalid.

"Let me offer my congratulations to both the German and Turkish football associations for their excellent bids,” UEFA President Aleksander Ceferin said at the event.

"I am really looking forward to another celebration of the best of European national team football in 2024.

“I know that Germany will be fantastic hosts and that we will see a wonderful tournament both on and off the pitch."

Germany hasn't hosted a major football tournament since the 2006 FIFA World Cup Finals and the European Championship hasn’t been held on German soil since West Germany hosted the 1988 edition.
