Women's National League May Player of the Month nominees announced

The nominees for the May Player of the Month in the Women’s National League are in and the selection is down to three.

Rianna Jarrett (Wexford Youths), Aislinn Meaney (Galway WFC) and Karen Duggan (Peamount United) are the three players selected for the month of May as nominees with each player producing very impressive and consistent performances for their team’s this season to date.

Rianna Jarrett is only recently back involved after a lengthy spell on the side lines caused by suffering her third ACL injury at the age of just twenty three. Jarrett is back stronger and hungrier than ever and the Wexford Youths striker already has a total of nine goals to her name this season which this week resulted in a nice phone call from Colin Bell with a call up to the senior Ireland team for the crucial upcoming qualifiers against Norway in the coming weeks.

Aislinn Meaney is one of the star players both for Galway and in the Women’s National League overall. Her consistency in producing such excellent performances on a weekly basis is clear to see and as a result of this and to her credit she was also nominated for the March/April player of the month as well. She has chipped in with three goals for Galway so far this season as well as assisting quite a few for her team mates around her as well.

Karen Duggan has been in sensational form since moving from UCD Waves to Peamount and her outstanding performances for her team has resulted in a fascinating battle at the top of the table with the Greenogue side just a single point behind current Champions Wexford Youths at the moment and also remaining unbeaten to date for the season as well. Duggan has played a huge part in this using all of her experience and composure in midfield to earn herself the nomination.
