The Extratime.ie Sportscast Episode 111 - Courtney Duffus - Ryan Delaney

Thu, May 17 2018

On this week's extratime.ie Dec and Dave talk to two former Ireland under-21 internationalists who have used loan spells in the League of Ireland to turn their form around.

First, the boys speak to Waterford striker Courtney Duffus on his excellent season so far and whether it will continue at the RSC when his initial loan comes to an end later this summer.

The Oldham Athletic striker has been reborn since making the move at the beginning of the season, having seen illness derail his time with the Lancashire club.

And they talk to defender Ryan Delaney on coming out on top in a dramatic last-day relegation battle with Rochdale – fittingly, at the expense of Oldham.

The former Wexford Youths man found his feet again at Cork City after failing to make the breakthrough at Burton Albion, but will now ply his trade in the same league as the Brewers.

There's discussion the name that will live in infamy – if you can pronounce it - Zbynek Proske, after he sent off keeper Jimmy Corcoran during a penalty shootout as Ireland crashed out of the U17 Euros.

They talk about whether Graham Burke could be the kind of big moment player lacking from the international team and previews of all the upcoming League of Ireland action
