Sligo announce trio of departures as squad begins to take shape

Sligo Rovers have announced that the trio of Daniel Kearns, Omar Haughton and Chris Kenny have all left the club.

Kearns joined the Bit O’Red in the summer of 2016 from NIFL Premiership side Glenavon FC. During his career at the Showgrounds Kearns made 17 appearances and scored 2 goals.

Omar Haughton made the move from English non-league side Stafford Rangers during the 2017 League of Ireland summer transfer window. The English winger made just the 2 appearances for Rovers playing a total of 19 minutes.

Chris Kenny joined the Bit O’Red from fellow League of Ireland team Wexford FC in December 2016. While at the Showgrounds the midfielder played a total of 20 games for Rovers and failed to find the net on any of those occasions.

Rovers manager Gerard Lyttle will now concentrate on adding more players to his 2018 playing staff.
