Midfielder Thomas Croke returns to Wexford for 2017

Wexford Youths have announced the signing of midfielder Thomas Croke for the 2017 season.

 

The 25-year-old returns having spent 2012 and 2013 at the club under former manager Shane Keegan.

 

He made his debut on the opening night of the season in a 6-0 win against his hometown side and went on to make 14 league appearances that campaign before appearing in 19 of Wexford’s 28 league games the followng season.

 

Croke signed for Waterford ahead of the 2014 season, making his debut on the opening weekend of that season against Finn Harps.

 

He appeared 14 times for the Blues, scoring his first goal for the club against Cobh in a 2-1 win in October of that year.

 



The Waterford native made just 4 appearances in the 2015 season as Waterford sunk to second bottom of the First Division table before leaving.

 

"I'm delighted to be back at the club,” the Munster man said upon completing his move.

 

“It's a club that's close to my heart, and it's where I've enjoyed my football the most. It's a great club, run by some fantastic people and I'm happy to be home"

 



Wexford take on Shamrock Rovers next Friday and Drogheda United on the 3rd of February, both at home, in preparation for their opening game of the First Division season away to Stephen Henderson’s Cobh Ramblers on the 25th.
