Player of the Year Noelle Murray joins Scottish champions Glasgow City

Women's National League player of the year Noelle Murray has signed signed for Scottish side Glasgow City from Shelbourne.

Murray, who was crowned player of the year at a ceremony on Thursday night, leaves Shelbourne having recently completed the league and cup double with the Dublin side.

She joins the reigning Scottish Women's Premier League champions having spent time training with the club during December following the conclusion of the Women's National League season.

The 27-year-old stiker previously spent time with Shamrock Rovers and Raheny United, winning two league titles and three FAI Cups with the Pandas before they merged with Shelbourne.

And she won't be short of familiar faces in Glasgow as she'll line up alongside Irish teammates Savannah McCarthy and Keeva Keenan.

“I am delighted to get the opportunity to make the move over to play for Glasgow City,” Murray told Glasgow City's official website.

“Although I have had great years playing football in Ireland, I am looking forward to a new challenge, meeting up with the team and I am excited for what's to come.”

Head coach Scott Booth added: “We are extremely happy to have signed Noelle. She brings to the club a wealth of experience, a creative style and an overall fantastic footballing ability.

“She is the top player in her country but has shown a desire to test herself in Scotland.

“We are really looking forward to seeing her in Glasgow City colours and hopefully she won't be the last new face we see at the club in the coming weeks as we continue to work on new targets."

Stay tuned as we'll have an exclusive interview with Noelle Murray online shortly.
