Shelbourne re-sign youngsters Tuite and Murphy

Shelbourne have furthered their preparations for 2017 by re-signing both Jack Tuite and Mikey Murphy.

Jack Tuite will look forward to his first full year as a Shelbourne player after arriving at Tolka Park from Athlone Town shortly after Owen Heary was appointed Shels boss during the summer.

Tuite, who also had a spell with Derby County in the UK, is best positioned at full-back.

Mikey Murphy, who plays in midfield, joined Shelbourne under-17s in 2015 before graduating to the club’s under-19 squad in early 2016.

Like Tuite, 17-year-old Murphy was brought into the first team shortly after Heary arrived in Drumcondra, making two substitute appearances in the second half of the season.

Monday’s announcement means that Heary’s Shelbourne squad now stands at nine after there-signings of Reece McEnteer, James Brown, Dylan Kavanagh, Lorcan Shannon, Dylan Grimes, Adam Evans and Dayle Rooney over the weekend.
