FAI Announce Iceland Friendly

The FAI have announced a “3” International friendly against Iceland on Tuesday, March 28th at the Aviva Stadium.

The fixture has been announced as a bonus match with those with FAI season tickets, a ticket that will also gain the holder access to March’s qualifier with rivals Wales, June’s home game with Austria as well as Uruguay’s visit in June and the forthcoming Irish Daily Mail FAI Cup Final between Cork city and Dundalk.

Iceland, who reached the quarter finals at Euro 2016 will meet the Boys in Green for the first time since 1997 when they visit Dublin next year.

Now managed by Heimir Hallgrimsson, Iceland have continued their good form from EURO 2016 by matching Ireland in their opening three World Cup qualifiers with two wins and one draw, as they sit joint top of Group I, a group which also contains the likes of Croatia, Ukraine and Turkey.

Ticket details for the fixture which comes four days after our World Cup Qualifier with Wales will be announced in due course.
