Roddan Extends Sligo Stay

Sligo Rovers this Sunday announced that midfielder Craig Roddan has agreed to extend his Bit O'Red contract until the end of the 2018 season.

 

The signing of Roddan makes it eight Rovers signed on for next season and into the 2018 season. 

 

Roddan is in his first season with the the Bit O'Red having signed in January. He was made club captain after Tim Clancy suffered an injury early in the season and was made permanent captain after Clancy left the club in July.

 

The Liverpudlian first captained the team against Cork City on April 2nd. Roddan has firmly established himself in the team making 22 appearances to date and has become a firm fan favourite.

 

Roddan started his career with Liverpool, spending seven years at the famed Liverpool Academy. After leaving Liverpool, Roddan had spells at Carlisle United and Accrington Stanley before signing with Rovers for the start of the 2016 season.
