Sava signs for Dundalk

Dundalk this afternoon confirmed the signing of Gabriel Sava for the 2014 season.

The goalkeeper joins the club from neighbours Drogheda United having spent two seasons with the Boynesiders. During that time he was part of the successful 2012 season with the Drogs where they finished runners up to champions Sligo Rovers and claimed the EA Sports Cup.

Sava began his League of Ireland career with Bray Wanderers in 2008 before joining Drogheda United in 2009. The Italian born shot stopper then moved on to Monaghan United where they reached the EA Sports Cup final in 2010, defeating the Lilywhites in the last four, and was a vital member of the promotion winning side of 2011.

He departed Gortakeegan at the end of 2011 to link up with Mick Cooke once again at United Park and has now joined their arch rivals on the back of their fantastic 2013 season.

Sava has become manager Stephen Kenny’s 17th signing of the close season. Kenny will be finalising his squad in the coming weeks so stay tuned to extratime.ie for all the news from Oriel Park!
