David McMillan joins Lilywhites

Dundalk today completed the signing of striker David McMillan.

McMillan joins the Lilywhites following a brief spell with Sligo where he picked up an FAI Cup winners medal just a few weeks ago. The forward previously spent time with UCD over two spells where he claimed a first division title in 2009.

The 25 year-old signed for Pete Mahon at St. Patrick's Athletic at the beginning of the 2011 season and was a regular starter in the side which clinched a top four finish. Following the appointment of Liam Buckley as manager, he departed for a short time in Australia before returning to the Students in 2012 where his goals helped them stave off relegation.

He began 2013 in fine form netting 12 times from 19 outings including a brace against his new employers in a 3-2 victory before a period in the west.

McMillan becomes the 15th player to put pen to paper at Oriel Park and joins the already re-signed Peter Cherrie, Mark Rossiter, Andy Boyle, Brian Gartland, Dane Massey, Chris Shields, Stephen O’Donnell, Richie Towell, Darren Meenan, John Mountney, Kurtis Byrne, Patrick Hoban, Ciaran O’Connor and new recruit Sean Gannon in Stephen Kenny’s squad.

More arrivals are expected at Oriel Park in the coming days and extratime.ie will bring you all the latest from the club!
