About Michael Foley

Michael signed for St. Patrick's Athletic in 2004 following a period with Liverpool FC.

Michael was a member of the Irish under-20 squad at the World Youth Championships of 2003. The diminutive midfielder was highly-rated at Liverpool but his lack of bulk told against him in his efforts to work his way into the plans of Gerard Houllier.

Michael left Liverpool in 2004 to return home and sign for St Patrick's Athletic where he spent four years before joining Waterford United in 2008. He made 27 league appearances that season and scored four times.

In 2009 Michael played for Drogheda United under Alan Mathews but in July of that year he moved to Longford Town to rejoin his former Waterford boss, Gareth Cronin.
