About Stephen Caffrey
Stephen began his career as a central defender with Bohemians in 1994 but left two years later without having made the breakthrough into the first team squad. In 1996 he moved to Glenavon in the Irish League where he played as a midfielder and where he spent three successful years.
In 1999 Stephen returned to Bohemians where he won a league and cup double in 2000/01, adding a second league medal in 2002/03. When his contract expired at the end of 2004 Stephen moved to St Patrick's Athletic
Two injury plagued season followed and in July 2006 he was loaned back to Bohemians for the latter half of the season. In late 2006 he re-signed for Glenavon where he remained until the 2008 season, at which point he signed for Liam Buckley at porting Fingal.
In December 2009 Stephen signed for Athlone Town but retired shortly afterwards.
