David Crawley - Unassigned
About David Crawley
David Crawley (born: 20 June 1977) is a well experienced left-back who has won honours at both his League of Ireland clubs, Dundalk and Shelbourne. Crawley signed for his hometown club, Dundalk, in the mid-90s after returning from Manchester City due to homesickness, and tasted his first senior success in 2001 as he helped the Lilywhites to promotion. Made club captain at the beginning of the following season, Crawley led Dundalk to a famous FAI Cup success, however, that season was soured by the pain of relegation.
An offer of full-time football from Shelbourne lured Crawley away from Oriel Park soon after, and he went on to enjoy an incredible time at Tolka Park as he won three Premier League medals in five seasons at the Dublin club. He also played in 23 of the Reds’ 24 European games during that period. Crawley then returned to Dundalk in January 2007 following Shels’ fall, and helped the side to the ‘Promotion/Relegation Playoff Semi-Final’, where they lost out to Finn Harps. Crawley signed a new one-year contract for 2008, and hopes to now see out his career with the Lilywhites.
