About Alan Mahon
Alan joined UCD from St Francis in 1997 and quickly became a regular, gong on to spend twelve tears at the club, during which time he also played under his father, Pete, who managed the club from 2003 until the end of the 2008 season.
Alan only played fourteen minutes of the 2003 season due to a serious knee injury but, after missing the opening four games of 2004 with the same injury, he returned as strong as ever.
In all his time at Belfield, a penalty in the shoot-out victory over Athlone Town at the end of the 2000/01 season remains the only time he found the net for the College. And at the end of 2008, with his father having left the manager's position, Alan retired from the game.
