John Martin signed for Shamrock Rovers, from Longford Town, in July 2007. He had joined the midland club from UCD in 2004
A very creative player, John was with UCD in the eircom League since 1997.
A son of former Shamrock Rovers and Athlone Town favourite Paul Martin, John played with younger brother Robbie at UCD, before joining Longford in 2003.
His excellent form towards the end of the 2004 season saw him earn a place in the starting line-up for the 2004 FAI Cup final.
