In July 2007, Waterford United and Alan Reynolds parted company 'by mutual consent'. Within days, Shamrock Rovers manager Pat Scully had signed the much travelled midfielder for the Hoops.
On July 12th 2006, Alan Reynolds returned to Waterford United after a sixteen month spell at Shelbourne.
Alan joined Waterford United as a 19 year old in 1991, under the managership of Alfie Hale. Alan joined Cork City from Waterford in the summer of 2002. He joined Shamrock Rovers in 2003. Alan rejoined the 'Blues' in March 2004 as Player-Manager, a position he held until April 2005, when he resigned from the position and left the club to join Shelbourne.
Alan made his Shels debut against Bohemians in August 2005.
Alan retired from football in 2008 after a spell with Shamrock Rovers
