About Jason McGuinness

Jason played youths football with Tolka Rovers and Sheriff YC before joining Bohemians where he made his senior debut in a 2-0 win over UCD on 16 August 2002. Shortly after his debut, Jason won his first Irish U21 Cap, against Finland, and over the next two seasons he made 11 appearances for Bohs, scoring twice.

At the start of 2004 he joined Dublin rivals Shamrock Rovers and and made 48 league appearances for the Hoops over the following two years, scoring six times. Following Rovers' relegation in 2005, Jason returned to Dalymount Park for the 2006 season went on to win two League titles over the next five years, also picking up an FAI Cup winners medal in 2008, and a League Cup winners medal in 2009.

Jason left Bohs at the end of 2010 having made 73 league appearances in his second spell at Dalymount Park and in January 2011 he signed for Paul Cook at Sligo Rovers. He made 42 league and cup appearances in his first year at the Showgrounds and scored three goals in the club's FAI Cup campaign that saw them lift the trophy at the Aviva Stadium having beaten Shelbourne in the final after a penalty shootout.
