About Gerard Doherty
Gerard joined Derry City in January 2008, nine years after his transfer from the the Brandywell to Derby County. The former Republic of Ireland Youth international made the move to the Welsh Premier League in November 2001, signing for top Welsh side TNS.
He made over 200 appearances with the Welsh club, winning 3 league titles and playing in a number of high-profile European ties against Liverpool and Manchester City.
