About Robert Bayly

Robert is a graduate of Cherry Orchard who went on to sign for Leeds United in 2006. He spent two seasons at Elland Road but was released by the club in the Autumn of 2008, when he returned home to sign for Sporting Fingal at the start of the 2009 season.

Robert was part of the team that won promotion to the Premier Division that year and he also picked up an FAI Cup winners medal as Fingal beat Sligo Rovers in the 2009 final.

In January of 2010 Robert signed for Michael O'Neill at Shamrock Rovers and made 26 league appearances as the club won the 2010 League title. However, he was suspended for the 2010 FAI Cup final in which the Hoops were beaten by Sligo Rovers on penalties.

Robert signed for Pat Fenlon at Bohemians in February 2011 at a time when financial pressure had dulled the club's competitive edge. He made 25 league appearances that year, but in December 2011, after just one year at Dalymount Park, he signed for Roddy Collins at Monaghan United.

Robert made his debut for Monaghan in a 0-0 draw with Dundalk on the opening night of the 2012 season, but the club withdrew from the league on 18 June and in late July he signed for Longford Town. He made his debut for Longford in a 3-1 win away to SD Galway on 27 July and he made 11 appearances as the club made it to the promotion play-offs where they lost out over two legs to Waterford United.

In January 2013 it was confirmed that Robert had signed for Alan Matthews at Shelbourne. He made 18 league appearances in a season that saw Mathews replaced by Johnny McDonnell and the club being relegated to the First Division.

Robert signed for Shamrock Rovers in February 2014. He went on to record twenty-one league appearances for the Premier Division side, as they secured fourth place, whilst also making two appearances for the Rovers B team in the First Division. On 6 January 2015 Belfast club Cliftonville announced that they had signed Robert for the remainder of their Danske Premiership season.

Robert then returned to play in the League of Ireland by signing for Johnny McDonnell at Drogheda United in July 2015.
