About Shane Long
Shane is an Irish striker who plays for West Bromwich Albion in the English Premier League.
Shane played underage football with Tipperary side St Michael's FC before signing for Pat Dolan at Cork City in July 2004. He made his league debut against Bray Wanderers on 25 March 2005 but made only one more appearance for the club before signing for English side Reading FC alongside Kevin Doyle in June of that year.
Shane stayed at Reading for six years, scoring 46 goals in 174 league appearances, transferring to West Bromwich Albion in the summer of 2011.
Shane made his international debut for the Republic of Ireland against San Marino in February 2007 and has since scored 6 times in 24 appearances for his country.
