About John O'Shea
John is an Irish defender who plays for Sunderland in the English Premier League.
John played for local sides Ferrybank and Waterford Bohemians before joining the youth academy at Manchester United. He made his debut for the club in a League Cup game against Aston Villa in 1999 and went on to make 393 appearances in his twelve years at Old Trafford. In July 2011 John left Manchester to sign for Steve Bruce at Sunderland and he made 28 league appearances in his first season there.
John made his international debut against Croatia at Lansdowne Road on 15 August 2001 and has since won over 70 senior international caps for the Republic of Ireland.
