At the start of the 2007 season, Gary Deegan joined Longford Town.
Gary went on loan to Kilkenny City for the 2006 season.
Gary Deegan (Chanel College/Shelbourne FC) was the winner of the 2005 eL/FAI Schools International Player of the Year. The nominee selections were made by a judging panel from the Soccer Writers Association of Ireland.
The other nominees were fellow Shels player James Chambers (Ard Scoil Lasalle / Shelbourne FC) and Adam Rooney (Palmerstown Community School/Stoke City FC).
Moved to Galway in 2008.
