About Ben Alnwick
Ben Alnwick is now a regular in Sunderland's first team squad.
The goalkeeper first made his mark when providing back-up for Thomas Myhre in the Black Cats' Championship-winning campaign in the 2004-05 season and played a number of games in the Premiership during the 2005-06 season.
In November 2005, he enjoyed a stint as the number one goalkeeper at Sunderland, replacing Kelvin Davis.
Despite impressing, Alnwick was dropped in favour of Davis, though his performances have won him many allocades at Weirside.
The Prudhoe born keeper has played for England at youth level and then made the step up to the Under-19s.
Alnwick played seven games for Sunderland during the 2005-06 season.
