Noel McGee - Athlone Town
About Noel McGee
Noel McGee signed a professional contract with Athlone Town on July 23, 2006, having broken through from the Club's youth set-up. Noel only started 13 League games in the 2006 season and still ended up as the club's top scorer with 6 League goals. He also grabbed his first FAI Cup goal at home to Finn Harps in the last ever FAI Cup game to be staged at Saint Mel's Park.
In both of the following seasons Noel scored five times in 29 league appearances and in 2009 he hit ten league goals in 27 appearances. However, Noel left the club in early May of 2010 having made just 6 league appearances.
Noel played with local side St Peters for the 2010/11 Junior season before returning to Athlone colours under new boss Mike Kerley, in June 2011. He made his return in a 2-0 defeat away to Cork City on 10 June and bagged his first goal one week later in a 1--1 draw at home to Longford Town, ending the season with seven goals from 13 league appearances.
