Stephen Paisley - Shelbourne
About Stephen Paisley
Stephen developed at Cherry Orchard before signing Manchester City in 1999. He spent four years in Manchester but returned home to join Longford Town in the summer of 2003.
Equally adept at both centre back and left back, he played in the U20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates in November 2003, scoring against both the Ivory Coast and Mexico. Stephen was then called into the Irish U21 squad in May 2004.
Stephen spent three and a half seasons at Flancare Park, winning two FAI Cup winners medals in 2003 and 2004, adding a League Cup winners medal as Longford won a Cup double in '04.
On the eve of the 2007 season Stephen signed for St Patricks Athletic and went on to make 56 appearances in league and cup in his two years at the club.
In January 2009 Stephen joined First Division Sporting Fingal, going on to pick up a third FAI Cup medal as they defeated Sligo Rovers in the '09 final at Tallaght Stadium. The following year, Fingal performed well in the Premier Division but a combination of injury and the offer of full time employment saw Stephen leave the club in July.
However, in August 2010, Stephen signed for Shelbourne and won promotion with the Reds at the end of the 2011 season, as well as appearing in his fourth FAI Cup final, this time finishing on the losing side as Shels lost to Sligo Rovers after a penalty shootout.
